Geocache Description:

UK Southern cachers meet. All Geocachers welcome.

  • The date is 28 April, 2002.
  • The time is lunchtime, from 12:00.
  • The venue is The Percy Hobs pub in Winchester. map here.

And for those of you approaching by helicopter, here is an ariel photo of the pub to help you find your bearings. Probably best to land in one of the nearby fields.

The Percy Hobs is a Brewers Fayre pub (with garden and kiddies play area) about a mile from the city centre. If you are coming without a car then do not worry - we can ferry people back and forth as required.

Everyone is welcome - come along and meet your fellow cachers.

Tim & June's map of Winchester city centre, showing useful car parks is here but please note the venue has changed since this map was put together. We are no longer going to the Old Gaolhouse due to the rather strict licensing laws to which Winchester city is subject.

Jeremyp has worked out a virtual trail of Winchester as entertainment for the afternoon. He will be bringing his laptop loaded with the relevant coordinates so bring your data cable along with your GPS unit (unless you own one of the Garmin etrex range in which case you need not bring a cable because we already have one) and you can download the waypoints to save yourselves some input. Hopefully this site does not give too much away!

It would be good to have an idea of numbers at least a week in advance so please email me if you can. Otherwise, just turn up on the day - there is plenty of space :)

Look forward to seeing you all.
