Geocache Description:

These little guys only grow to around 5 inches making them the perfect tank turtle. Texas Map Turtles are beautiful turtles that love to bask and swim. They are very sensitive to water quality, so it’s important that you have a good filter to keep their water clean. You’ll also need to create a nice basking area with a light and heat source over that spot, so they’ll really enjoy themselves.

Texas Map Turtles are omnivorous and they really take well to our turtle foods. These turtles are also great community turtles if you’re looking to add them to your family. They are great companions to Mud Turtles, Musk Turtles, Sliders, Cooters, other Map Turtles and Painted Turtles. The species is known to be a little shy at first, but they’ll warm up to you as long as they’re comfortable.
