Geocache Description:

IT'S HIDE AND GO CACHE TIME

All through January we'll hide amazing caches, and all through February we'll hunt amazing caches. Winter?? Bye-bye. The wrap-up Bash begins at 5:30, on Saturday March 2nd, and whether or not you've hidden a HAG cache this year, you'll be very welcome, as long as you're old enough to be in a pub.

Congratulations to all the Trophy winners.

Most Hides: Vicmorda
Best Night Cache: Team World Tour for Crimes in the City GC44F4E

Intrepid Cacher Trophy: 17blonde for the terrain she covers putting caches in the Sooke Wilderness
Pyramid Trophy: ljg-47 for the MANY contributions she has made to caching in the Sooke Hills.

This is how the HAG plays out...

1)HAG hides may be submitted for review any time AFTER Jan 2nd (60 days before the wrap-up Event) and BEFORE Thursday, January 31st. Please feel free to place hides anywhere on Vancouver Island, or on any other of our lovely Gulf Islands. And PLEASE, for the Reviewers' sakes, send your caches for review as early as possible. The Reviewers need time to be sure all the caches are following the rules. PUT YOUR HIDE ON THE VIGPS SITE AS SOON AS YOU HAVE PUT IT IN THE REVIEWER LINE-UP. YOU WON'T HEAR FROM A REVIEWER UNLESS THERE'S A PROBLEM WITH THE PLACEMENT, SO DON'T WAIT FOR THAT.

2) All the qualified caches that are presented for publication in time will be published by our wonderful Reviewers on Saturday, February 2nd...and if you've never experienced 100+ caches suddenly scrolling into your e-mail, then welcome to the HAG!

3) The caches are published and the caching begins!!

4) The cut-off for your finds to count towards a Trophy will be February 28th at midnight. Don't worry; the caches will be available for finding for years; the cut-off is just for trophy hunters. And finally,

5) We have the wind-up Bash at the 6-Mile Pub. Time to swap stories, present lovely and tasteful trophies, and generally have a high old time. If you're able to make it to the Bash, it's important that you log a "Will Attend" on the Event page, and mention how many of you are coming, so the pub can provide for everyone.

GUIDELINES

PLEASE PUT HAG9 at the END of the cache name. Having it in the name helps the reviewers, but having it at the beginning makes for confusion on your GPS

DO REMEMBER to include a "note to reviewer" (bottom of your hide-a-cache page) saying that "This is a HAG9 cache. Please publish on Saturday, Feb 2nd."

DO LIST your hides on the VIGPS forum.Link.

ATTENTION TROPHY HUNTERS
This year there are TEN TASTEFUL TROPHIES. Night Cache; Evil Cache; Best Log; Best Puzzle; Most Hides; Best Multi; Most Finds; Most FTFs; the Pyramid; and new this year, a Best Trail Series Trophy and a Best Camo Trophy.
DO REMEMBER that there will be no FTFs recognised that were found before the caches'  publication. Don't jump the gun.
If you decide to hunt in a group (for example, if Cache Crop and Amandazon were to join up as CropAzon to do HAG caching) be aware that only ONE caching account is entitled to the FTF..please be clear in your log exactly which cacher found the cache first.
AND if you're caching as a team and going for, say, the Most Finds Trophy, you must stay together and ALL go to each cache

HAVE A TON OF SUPERNATURAL FUN
