The first Cache in Agra. Great views of the Taj.
I think some people might enjoy seeing the Taj Mahal.
Unbelievably THERE ARE NO GEOCACHES NEAR HERE! I couldn't pass up the chance to put this cache. In my limited recent experince with caches here in India one should assume that the hider will not be present to keep it up. I have asked my very interested and friendly local guide KK to maintain when he can. That said be very careful of muggles. I chose a spot FAR AWAY from the main tourist location BUT with a very competitive view. The cache is in a park across the river from the Taj site where Shah Jahan was rumored to be considering a "Black Taj" as a monument for himself. That rumor is thought to be untrue but the park has a fantastic view of the Taj and should be an easy place to seek and find the cache undeterred by the population density that can hamper geocaching in the touristy parts of India that I have been frequenting. The park is also called the moon garden and used to hold a pool that reflected the Taj especially well on moonlit evenings. PLEASE be very careful of any on lookers while grabbing the cache. I gather they notoriously go missing here in India. The Park is open from Sunrise to Sunset and one must pay a very nominal fee to get in. The Taj is currently closed on Fridays, this is a great place to get a very uncrowded view on Friday or any day.
Small note on cache maintenance: There is a local cache guardian. Name and contact info on file with geocaching.com.
I suggest that you take a good look at the previous logs because this one can tend to travel a bit. It is rumored to be at a different spot than the spoiler spot which some have suggested is not the exact coordinates spot.
