Geocache Description:

9:00 a.m. – Meet at coordinates to sign in and listen to a short, mandatory safety meeting.

11:00 a.m.-Make sure trash bags are placed at the base of either AAH sign, and vests are returned at this time. (You may do this earlier; this is just the scheduled end time.)

Here is a link to the safety video: http://www.dot.state.tx.us/trv/aah/video/safetyfirst_3.wmv

The cache coordinates will take you to the spot where we will be set up to pass out and collect supplies, have the sign-in sheet and waivers, and hold a short, mandatory safety meeting. This spot is near the north end of our area.  Our two miles stretch of Cooper begins at 287 and ends at Harris.

There is no one good spot for parking; however, there is parking available all up and down cooper street and at the YMCA parking lot or down Cooper at various strip malls and closed businesses.
This area sometimes needs lots of clean up, and sometimes it doesn’t look too bad. Cooper is ALWAYS busy though, so use caution at all times.

Some AAH guidelines to know before you go:
·         Volunteers must wear the safety vests provided by TxDOT during the cleanup.
·         Volunteers must wear gloves (I'll bring latex free gloves ... all sizes and hand sanitizer).
·         All children must be supervised, and children under 7 may not participate.
·         Stay in the right of way, and only cross the roadway when necessary.

This is a rain or shine event! If you are hungry after the clean up, there are many choices for you on 287 east of Cooper and all up and down Cooper itself.
I'll bring an ice chest with water bottles, but if anyone else wants to pitch in a cooler with other type of drinks I would greatly appreciate it too. Those attending CITO Events on April 20 or April 21 (or both!) will earn a 2013 CITO Souvenir for their Geocaching profile.
Please watch the event page for any updates! Thanks in advance!

Note: my office donated toothbrushes, toothpaste, and floss for adults and kids for this event!!! :)
I will also be placing a special Cache out for this event so be sure to wear your name tags or an item that is Trackable! It will have something to do with my cache I will be place out.... A challenge cache :)
