Geocache Description:

English

CRANCOT SCALES
This path with stairs carved into the rock used to connect the village of Baume-les-Messieurs the remote of the same name than on the Premier Crançot Plateau Jura. A steep path with steps connecting the cave Balm lookout over the remote.

A bit of history.
To reach the bottom of the Reculée Baume from Crançot was used past a series of scales. Father Jean de Watteville (monk at the abbey of Baume-les-Messieurs the seventeenth century) did replaced by a staircase cut in the rock, which continued to call Crançot The Scales. One day, seeing his religious take every precaution not to breaking their necks on those degrees abrupt and slippery, Father, impatient, brought his mule, and straddled him down the stairs covering cowardly insults !

You will find the treasure by taking the famous steps carved into the rock.
