Geocache Description:

An ammo can along the Rocky Ridge Trail in Santa Teresa County Park. Terrain is rated 2.5 due to tons of rocks right on the trail........hence, the name.

While hiking yesterday along the Hacienda Trail in Almaden Quicksilver Park, my CO decided she wanted to take a break and mark this great spot with me, an ammo can! I was riding piggy back, thinking I was just going along for the ride. No, she put me down and told me to "stay". So, here I stayed all night. Despite the logs and bark covering me, I was c-cold.

I woke up bright and early today, still covered and wondering when a cacher is going to find me. Suddenly, there's my CO! What the? Why is she here? She told me I can't stay here because I am too close to a puzzle final. I don't know what that means. I only know it means I get another piggy back ride!

So, a little later, we arrive at the Santa Teresa County Park. We hike over a mile and then I am put down off the Rocky Ridge Trail under a cozy bush. Here I get to stay! Now, don't let muggles get me. I hate when that happens. Speaking of spiders (we were, right?), there's a big one guarding me, so watch out. His name is Clyde. He keeps me company.

Inside of me, at the time of placement, are some goodies of the Hot Wheels and ball genre. Have a trade? Also, I have three items in a labeled baggie for FTF, 2TF, and 3TF. FTF gets one pick of the three. 2TF will have one out of two to choose, and 3TF will get the one that's left. If more than one person is in the group for the FTF, 2TF, or 3TF, only one prize per group, please. Those are my CO's instuctions. She says "thanks!". My CO will remove this paragraph once all three items are gone.

Note:There is still one prize left as 2TF didn't take one, but 3TF did!

CO says to respect park hours which are 8:00am - sunset. Apparently, there's a sentence below the 8:00am-Sunset that reads "Trails open sunrise to sunset". I have never noticed this before. Thanks, Shatterst0rm for supplying the picture.

Watch out for the usual suspects: PO, ticks, snakes, spiders. If you see an elephant, you are still in trouble ;-).

Closest parking in the Equestrian area. This park charges a fee. Last time I looked, it was $6, but that can change. I have a paid pass for county parks, so I used that. I suggest you don't pass up that fee. Rangers are there frequently and you will ge cited.

Happy Rocky Ridge trails from me, the ammo can!

Quoting from Hiker1956's note because he is correct: "** CAUTION ** I wouldn't suggest parking at the end of Country View Drive because there is no legal parking there and you cross private land at that spot. If the sheriff happens to come by, you will get ticketed. See the final few log entries for GC2R4QG (STCP Back Side Secret Trailhead). You should park either inside Santa Teresa Park or in the lot on San Vicente Ave just off Fortini Road."

Congratulations to ShatterSt0rm for FTF!

Congratulations to Geokashers for 2TF!
