The Great Sonoma County GeoRally and Quest for Mega - May 4, 2013
Welcome to the 2013 Sonoma County GeoRally and Quest for Mega - the biggest caching event in Sonoma County! I'm hoping to keep this event growing, and would love to see it hit Mega status some time - so tell your friends and let's make it the Bay Area's first Mega event!
Here's how it works:
- A week or so before the event I'll post a file with a bunch of waypoints for you to load into your GPS before you come to the event.
- We'll meet at 10:00 am, at the listed coords.
- When you check in for the event, you can choose to donate a geo-related raffle item in return for a pick from the 'bucket-o-hints', which will give you a hint or answer to one of the questions. One hint per team.
- I'll give you all directions for the day's activities, then you'll head out on the caching GeoRally. A lot more info on the rally itself is available at http://www.donaldlaird.com/georally.html.
- I will be receiving entries starting at 5:15 pm, at the ending coordinates.
- New this year, there will be two versions of the rally. The regular "full size" rally, for those who want the full experience and to see more of our beautiful county back roads, and a shorter "rally lite", for those who want more time for finding caches, wine tasting, shopping, or anything else. You can choose which one you want to do the day of the event.

May 4, 2013:
- 9:15 am: GC45MMB - WWFM X Whole Geocaching - A 15-minute flash mob event in Santa Rosa.
- 10:00 am: GC45KQ6 - Sonoma County GeoRally - Lucky #7 - Nearly world-famous caching romp through Sonoma County backroads.
- 5:15 pm: GC495NY - Cotati CacheFest - Huge party with raffle, contests, and yummy eats!
May 5, 2013:
- 8:30 am: GC47XPH - Taylor Mountain Park Kick-Off & Breakfast Potluck - Event to celebrate the opening of a brand-new County Regional Park. This event will conclude with the publishing of at least six new caches, each of a different type - this is your chance to get seven different icons in a single park!
