Geocache Description:

This is our first geocache event so go easy on us. This is our way to give back to our community. The event will be held on Sunday April 21,2013 between 11am and 4pm. The posted coords will be our base for the day and we have provided parking coords also. The location is the Port Dover Lions Silver Lake Park.

It's a pretty straight forward event. The event will start at 11am at the posted coords and run through until 4pm. Here we will supply you with bags and latex gloves and a list of areas that could use some TLC. Being cachers we will try and make these places close to a cache or two. (the park has a multi and at least 3 traditional located in it). However we will not limit you to just these spots. I'm sure you will be able to fill your bags in many different ways.
We hope you return to the base by the end of the event with your full CITO bag. At this time we will enter your name into the event draw. We are still collecting prizes. All cachers will receive a gift for returning with a full/half full for kids bag of garbage. We hope to get some photos through out the event and perhaps a group shot at the end.The event base is the Pavilion at the Park and I would like to thank the Port Dover Lions for donation of its use. They have helped out wonderfully. The park has trails through out it and links up to the Lynn Valley Trail that runs into Simcoe and connects to other trails that could take you all the way into Brantford in one direction, Delhi in another.
Please let us know how many will be attending with you so we make sure to have enough gifts on hand.We are planning to open the event up to local residents to come and help pitch in on the work. After all it is there community and park also. Besides it might give us a chance to educate a few of them. So the next time they see a cacher or find a cache by accident they will know what they are seeing. Who knows there could be a future cacher just waiting to be given some info.

What you need to bring: well there could be some muddy spot so boots. Any tool that might make your trash pick easier. We will have  a place to deposit the trash we all collect. There will be bottled water available at the base during the event. As the event draws closer we will make announcements if anything happens to change. If you have any questions, ideas,etc.. feel free to contact us either through our profile page, post a note on this page,or by clicking on our logo below. We will do our best to answer any questions or concerns that may come up. Hope to see you soon if not at the event then out on the trails in search of a cache.
