Please join us on Sunday, May 26, 2013 (Noon) at Rocky Reach Dam (near Wenatchee, WA) for a picnic style potluck to visit, trade geocaching stories and to hear about the D3 Geocaching Challenge.

This will be an outside event. The gathering is at a covered picnic area in a large grassy field with a playground for the kids. Attendees please check in at the main security gate. Turn off of Hwy 97A (7 miles North of Wenatchee) at the dam entrance and check in at the main security gate. The security guard will give directions to the picnic shelter.

Before or after the Meet and Greet Event, you and your family can enjoy the wide variety of things to do at the dam and it is all free. Those touring the facility will discover a museum, a cafe, balconies that offer panoramic views of the dam and grounds, the juvenile fish bypass system, the reservoir (Lake Entiat) and the Columbia River. A 90-seat theater shows movies throughout the day and upon request. Guided tours are available throughout the day. The carefully manicured lawns and gardens are perfect for a picnic and a relaxing afternoon while the kids have fun in the children's play area complete with climbing toys. A walkway high above the powerhouse floor gives visitors a view of the giant turbine-generators at work, while viewing windows provide an opportunity to look a salmon in the eye on their way upstream to spawn. Rocky Reach Museum of the Columbia, located in the powerhouse, shows the West as it really was—settlers and Native Americans, steam boaters, lumbermen, railroaders in life-size photos. Stand inches away from a historical tramway reconstructed from original parts.

Mark your calendars (May 26 at Noon) and we’ll see you at the Event.
