Geocache Description:

Hosted by Friends of Lake Wapello

The posted coordinates will lead you to the restaurant/lodge where you will register and have the caches loaded to your GPS.
Please bring your cables.
There will be 8-10 new permanent caches and approximately 100 temp caches placed. There will be several park and grab night caches. Registration will make you eligible for prize drawings later in the day. This building is handicap accessible and will be open all day as an event headquarters.
8:30am Registration & cache loading, 3:30pm Prize drawings at the restaurant.
There are approximately 200 caches in the Ottumwa/Wapello County area.


The restaurant will be open, Breakfast items available are: Scrambled eggs with choice of bacon or ham and toast; or biscuits and gravy, with a coffee or OJ for $6.50. Also plan to have an assortment of donuts and cinnamon rolls. Lunch: BBQ pork sandwich with potato salad, baked beans and a drink(coffee, tea or lemonade) for $8.50

We will also be bringing back the Kids Treasure Trail. There will be trail type night caches placed.

Lake Wapello features 14 cabins and 80 campsites, 42 with electricity.
