Since Kev has to work the weekends around Halloween this year we decided to move our event up just a little and have a good old fashioned Octoberfest celebration...and how appropriate that the German Wiener Dog Fritz will be our official host of this year's wienie roast! Start time is 4 p.m. and we will go until everybody gets bored and wanders off to grab a few new caches.
The posted coordinates will bring you to the new fire pit in the backyard...I figured we better upgrade the facilities since we managed to set the grass on fire in the front yard last year. We will have lots of hot dogs and pre-cooked brats to roast on the fire plus all of the usual fixin's. Feel free to bring your favorite dessert...Fritz has the same sweet tooth that Gretyl had. Also feel free to bring your favorite beverages...but remember to be responsible!!
This is a family friendly event so invite the kids and/or the grandkids along. There will be door prizes...and of course, new caches to find. And be sure to add this cache to your watchlist in case we have to give you any updates on the event!
As you probably know (if you have been here before) Halloween is our favorite holiday...so the yard will be decorated with more than 300 tombstones, as well as skeletons, ghouls and demons...and whatever else decides to haunt the house this year. One of those tombstones might even look a little familiar to our caching friends "We Might Be Giants" who gave us a cool idea this past year for a new one.
We are planning this event to happen rain or shine...the garage will give us shelter if it is raining (it is Indiana after all) or snowing! This is an "open house" style event so stop on by any time after 5 that you are available.
