Tepoon Pirunkirkko on jylhä kiviluola keskellä metsää. Luolan suuaukko rakentuu päällekkäisistä kivipaasista jotka jatkuvat tasaisena kattona syvemmälle luolaan. Pääluolan jälkeen luola haarautuu kapeisiin ja ahtaisiin onkaloihin.
Koska kyseinen rakennelma ei ole ihmisen tekemä, uskottiin entisaikaan että sen täytyy olla itsensä vihtahousun käsialaa. Luolaa kutsuttiin komealla nimellä Pirunkirkko. Todennäköisempää kuitenkin on, että luola on jääkauden muovaama vuosituhansien takaa. Perimätiedon mukaan luolaa olisi käytetty myös piilopaikkana Isovihan aikaan.
Luolan rakennetta tarkastellessa tulee tunne että tämä ei ole heikkohermoisen paikka, taskulamppu on välttämätön päivälläkin. Löytääksesi kätköpurkin sinun ei tarvitse suorittaa louhinta- eikä maansiirtotöitä :)
Ajo-ohje: Sysmän Kalkkistentieltä (3132) käännytään Tepoontielle jota ajetaan suoraan n. 4.8km ja käännytään vasemmalle, jatketaan n. 800 metriä jonka jälkeen käännytään puuportin kohdalta (N 61°.24.658´ E 025° 55.647´) vasemmalle pienelle kiertotielle joka vie lähelle kohdetta. Parkkipaikkoja löytyy läheltä koordinaattia (N 61° 24.748´ E 025° 55.848´). Näin vältetään läheisen maalaistalon häirintä, tosin talvella vain Tepoontie saatetaan aurata...lumikengillä sitten loput :)
Pirunkirkkoa suosittelen lähestymään alakautta vasemmalta, se on turvallisin reitti sillä alue on täynnä petollisia sammaleen peittämiä kallionkoloja.
In the middle of the forest there is a rugged cave called "Devil´s church of Tepoo". Mouth of the cave has been formed by standing stones and the ceiling of the main cave is flat. Behind the main cave there are tight cavities.
In old times men believed that the cave was made by devil neither than any human. Nowadays men believe that it was formed by the ice age. Maybe it has been some kind of a hideout in time of persecution.
Inside the cave you get a feeling that this is not a place for a person with weak nerves. Torch is necessary also during the day. You don´t need to make any mining works or move stones in order to find the geocache :)
Driving instructions: Drive road 3132 (Kalkkistentie of Sysmä) and turn to a dirt road named Tepoontie. Drive straight true for about 4.8 kilometres and then turn left, drive about 800 meters and take one to the left (N 61°.24.658´ E 025° 55.647´). This is a detour near the cache and there is a place for parking (N 61°24.748´ E 025°55.848´). This way you don´t disturb the house nearby. In winter there might not be maintenance on the little road so park nearby and use snowshoes :)
I suggest to approach the cache place from below and left. It is the safest route to the cave.
