Geocache Description:

Should be a quick P & G. Watch out for farmer muggles. Please BYOP.

The Schnauzer's were looking for a way to put out a short series of caches in this part of the county, and our "Great Lakes Tributes" will do just that. Nothing difficult about these caches, just plain and simple park and grabs. These may be a little touger to tackle during the winter months. You shouldn't have too much trouble with muggles, though there are some farmsteads nearby so you may want to be on the lookout for them if they're out in their fields.

Lake Michigan is said to have the largest surface area. It is the only of the five Great Lakes that is located entirely within the United States, bordering Michigan, Wisconsin, Illinois and Indiana. The largest city on all of the Great Lakes, Chicago, lies at the southern end of Lake Michigan. Many vacationers flock to the shores of Lake Michigan every year, especially to Door County, which is on the Western shore of the lake in Wisconsin. Door County is also bounded on the west by Green Bay. Two major passenger ferries cross the lake. One is located at Manitowoc, Wisconsin and crosses the lake to Ludington, Michigan. A second "express" ferry crosses from Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Muskegon, Michigan. Lake Michigan, like the other lakes, is famous for its many lighthouses.
