This cache is located near the entrance of a facility that may be especially enticing for chocolate addicts. Watch out for muggles during openings and special events, although a clever cacher can disguise themselves as a chocolate addict and blend in easily while searching for the cache.
The building just down the block from the cache location was originally built in 1929 and was the factory where Liquid Carbonic Corp. made dry ice, carbon dioxide and other soda fountain additives. There was a day when carbon dioxide billowed from the two smokestacks. After it was purchased in 2007, the old factory underwent a two-year reconstruction project, retaining much of the original materials and appearance while becoming a home to 30-plus artist studios and two galleries. This cache is part of a series designed to introduce cachers to the River North Art District (RiNo). Each cache is located at or near a site where interesting artwork is created or displayed, or at a landmark within the district. Look for the orange "ART" RiNo's, and you will know you are getting close. Located just north of Downtown Denver, RiNo includes a remarkable concentration of creative businesses, including architects, art galleries, ceramicists, designers, furniture makers, illustrators, authors, wineries, small-batch breweries, distilleries, urban agriculture, painters, media artists, performance artists, sculptors, photographers, and an array of studio spaces. While retaining its industrial roots, the RiNo neighborhood is now fertile ground for arts and artists.
