Geocache Description:

A Church Micro at All Saints, Leighton Buzzard

* the cache is not at the published co-ordinates, please read on for more information*

All Saints Church Leighton Buzzard dates from the 13th Century. It has been described as the cathedral of South Bedfordshire and is probably the finest church in Bedfordshire. The church has a 190 ft spire, some outstanding medieval ironwork,  amazing stained glass windows, gargoyles, graffiti said to explain the origin of Simnel cake and the roof features carved saints and angels that date from the 15th century.

The cache is hidden within the grounds of the church and you will need to take a tour of the churchyard in order to find the information required to solve the multi. You do not need to take the steps down into the lower part of the graveyard in order to find the numbers. Please be aware that there are active bee hives in the south western corner of the churchyard (see additional waypoint) so please be careful. The graveyard is not well lit at night, so please only attempt this cache during daylight hours, thank you.

Enter the churchyard through the main entrance and proceed in a counter-clockwise direction to find:

D – Mary Abbott (née Turney) born September D 1831

A – Thomas Burrin born January A 1864

E – Amelia Loke died March 15th 1891 aged 6E

B – Ann Walker died June 20th 1831 aged 5B

C – Samuel Yirrel died January 23rd 1916 aged C4

F – Finlay McDougal died F(month) 16th 1917

The cache can be found at N 51 54 ABC W 000 39 DEF
