Geocache Description:

Na památku obětem cholery v Bílanech.


In memory of victims of cholera in village Bílany.


Dne 15.července 1866 v poledne se objevila v Bílanech pruská jízda, která se u Hulína  srazila s ustupujícími husary. Krátce na to přitáhla do Bílan pruská pěchota a zůstala zde 14 dní. Z Bílan jako vojáci narukovali: František Droběna, který byl raněn, zajat a zranění v Berlíně podlehl, Jan Kusala a Jan Nesvadba. V Bilanech pak propukla cholera, na kterou zemřelo 37 občanů.   

Na památku této tragické události byl postaven u Bílan kříž.

Tento kříž byl prohlášen kulturní památkou Ministerstvem kultury dne 20.prosince 2004 a je veden v rejstříku ÚSKP pod číslem 101316


 

A Prussian cavalry which at Hulín collided with retreating hussars appeared in village Bílany at noon on July 15, 1866. Shortly after the cavalry also Prussian infantry reached Bílany and stayed here for 14 days. After that cholera oubreaks in Bílany, which killed 37 people.

In memory of this tragic event by village Bílany was erected this stone cross.

This cross was declared a cultural monument by the Ministry of Culture on December 20, 2004 and is listed in the register of ÚSKP under number 101316.
