Geocache Description:

St John the Baptist is a church in the Frenchay area of Bristol, England. It has been designated by English Heritage as a grade II listed building.
The churchyard contains the war graves of six service personnel of World War I and three of World War II.

St. John the Baptist's, was built in 1834 by Henry Rumley.
Work on the vestry in 1887 was by the local architect William Larkins Bernard.
The large church has a low battlement tower with a slender spire which overlooks the common, restored in 1923 is by Hartland Thomas.
The embattled nave of five bays has galleries on the west, east and north sides.
The roof has a wide span with ribbed plaster vaults over the nave.
The galleries are of the same height and windows lighting the galleries are Dec style; those in the aisles below are plain.
The church has a dramatic interior.
The churchyard contains the war graves of six service personnel of World War I and three of World War II.
