2013 - The 4th Annual HH&CC Event
DARE TO BE THERE!
One of a series of Night time caches placed for the 2013 4th Annual Halloween Hides and Creepy Caches Mega Event
All of the caches are on or near to the paths around the forest
Whilst we have taken every care to get the co-ordinates as accurate as possible the usual disclaimer for GPS signals under tree cover apply.
Use the hint provided to assist with any of the hides you are struggling with.
Permission for this cache was given by the forestry Commission- Thanks!
To find this cache just follow these basic rules;
*Go to the start co-ordinates given and shine your torch (held at head height) into the darkness of the woods. Look for an arrow directing you down one of the tracks. Follow it.
Along the way you will find more reflectors. They will be either;
*An ARROW reflector- indicates a change in direction, follow the direction it points.
*A STRAIGHT reflector- continue in the direction you are heading / along the track you are on.
IMPORTANT- If you are on a track you will NOT always be able to see the next reflector from the location of the previous one- continue along the track and you will find the next.
Where the trail leaves the established tracks (and it does!) you will ALWAYS be able to see the next reflector from the previous one.
When you are within 10m of the cache location you will find a DOUBLE ARROW reflector, look LOW in the direction they are pointing- X marks the spot!!
Some final words of advice- The wood pixies have not swept up in a while, expect there to be things that might trip you up under foot, why not shine your torch down from time to time. Also despite the "drought" there are some wet/ boggy sections so wear appropriate footwear. And finally enjoy yourself, and don't worry its ages since all those people disappeared in these woods, and I'm fairly sure they caught that maniac. Maybe.
