Geocache Description:

Join the Georgia Geocachers Associtation for our December meeting and Holiday Brunch on Saturday, December 14 from 10am - noon, in the beautiful city of Valdosta, co-hosted by the Valdosta Geocachers. We will be meeting at a popular local buffet restaurant and have the back room reserved for our event. Everyone is welcome to attend!

This month in addition to our regular meeting, we have two fun activities planned!

First, we will be playing the Dirty Santa game. If you are familiar with this game, you know how much fun this is! If you aren’t familiar with it, here is how the game is played:

Each person that wants to participate will bring a wrapped gift. The gift needs to be geo-related, such as a geocoin, an ammo can, a filled cache container, a hiking stick, etc - be creative! (Try to keep gifts around the $10 price range.)

We will then have everyone that brought a gift draw a number from a hat.

#1 chooses a gift and unwraps it, and shows it to everyone.
#2 can choose a new gift to unwrap or steal the gift from #1
#3 can choose a new gift to unwrap or steal from #1 or #2 and so on.

If your gift is stolen, you can choose a new gift from the table or steal from someone else!

A gift can only be stolen 3 times and it’s out of play. And you can’t steal back a gift immediately after it’s taken from you. Remember the goal is to bring a gift that people will want to steal! This game is always a lot of fun.

The second activity we’ll be doing is to decorate a geo-wreath to give away. We will provide a plain wreath and everyone that wants to participate can bring an item to hang on the wreath. Again, it needs to be outdoor or geo-related such as a coin, path tag, geocaching ornament, a small cache container, etc. Hand made ornaments would be great. Anything you can think of that would make a creative geo-wreath. For every item you bring, you will receive a ticket for the drawing to win the wreath. Bring one item, get one ticket, bring 5 items, get 5 tickets, etc. If we have enough we will do 2 wreaths to give away. (Many thanks to JoeBids for allowing us to "borrow" his idea!)

As always both of these activities are completely optional and we hope you will join us whether or not you choose to participate in the gifts.

We are looking forward to seeing you there and hope you have a Happy Holiday season!!
