About SideTracked Caches.
This cache belongs to the SideTracked series. The series was not designed to take you to a magical place with a breath taking view but this one does especially at night. The view that is, great place to view the Cathedral and Castle all lit up in all their glory. Its not bad during the day either. But it is also a distraction for the weary traveller, but anyone else can go and find it too. More Information can be found at the SideTracked website. See related web page.
Durham City Station
The station has two platforms and is situated on a hill to the north of the city centre. To the south of the station trains leave Durham over a very impressive viaduct. The viaduct was built in 1857 by Stockton and Darlington Railway. It was redeveloped in 1871 by North Eastern Railways but it soon became part of the East Coast main line. So now all trains from Kings Cross to Edinburgh pass through here.
