Geocache Description:

Dzelzceļa tilts pār Ventu ir Skrundas simbols, kas atainots pilsētas ģerbonī. Tas atklāts 1928. gadā, projektējis Latvijas Universitātes docents P. Pāvulāns, un būvdarbus vadījis inženieris J. Leimanis. Gar sliežu malu pāri upei izveidots arī gājēju celiņš. 2003. gadā uzstādīta plāksne Skrundas dzelzceļa tilta 75 gadu jubilejai.
  


Tilts ir būvēts no čehoslovāku metāla un rudbāržnieku laukakmeņa. Tā ir viens no lielākajām Latvijas Republikas pirmskara inženiertehniskajām arhitektoniski izteiktajām būvēm. Tilts kā kultūrvēsturisks objekts iekļauts valsts aizsargājamo pieminekļu sarakstā.

Slēpnis neatrodas pašā tiltā, bet gan vietā no kuras paveras burvīgs skats uz to. Lai tiktu pie slēpņa ir nedaudz jāatraujas no zemes.
