Geocache Description:

The original cache placed here by our good friend somloci ('Trainspotting in Lufbra' GC290XX) had to be moved several times due to mugglement and maintenance work carried out, then recently Network Rail commissioned building of a bridleway bridge to replace the old pedestrian crossing, apparently necessary for their upgrade of the line to 125mph capability. The truly magnificent bridleway bridge is now finished and open to the public - the final cost of this huge structure is, quite frankly, unimaginable! Mounting blocks are provided at both ends of the bridge to enable horse riders to dismount & remount their beasts when using the bridge. I chatted to one of the construction guys, who commented that local horse riders said it will never be used by them because the northern end of the bridleway (Little Moor Lane) only leads onto the very busy A60.

I was reluctant to archive somloci's original cache, which I adopted when he returned to his native Budapest, but the location has changed to an extent that a new 'Sidetracked' cache seemed the logical way forward. Click SideTracked for more information on the series.

The cache can be retrieved without leaving the public bridleway, so no need to enter private land or areas fenced-off by Network Rail. Replacement of the old pedestrian crossing by the new bridge has made access to this cache much safer, however please take extra care if accompanied by children & pets. The container is not huge so bring your own pen - please handle carefully and replace exactly as found.
