Caches hidden under rocks are common in Canberra. I like caches hidden under rocks—they are fun. I also like caches hidden up trees, but I am not as limber as I once was, so I often have to leave caches hidden up in trees to others.
This cache is hidden up a tree, but you do not need to climb up it to earn your smiley—actually it would be quite difficult to climb the tree holding the cache as there are no low branches, which is why I chose the tree in question—although this may not discourage some of you, I'm sure.
You can access the cache by heading straight to 'ground zero' or GZ, however in order to access the log book you will need a suitable retrieval tool approximately 130 cm in length to grab the container. There are plenty of natural cache retrieval tools and wotnot strewn around GZ if you choose to use them.
Note: If you choose your own cache retrieval tool, you'll need a long and thin one to retrieve the container, thick tools (diameters bigger than 1-2 cm) will not work!
There is an optional multi-cache component to this cache—via a custom-made cache retrieval tool which is conveniently stashed on the way from the recommended car, bike or scooter park to GZ. Please check the additional waypoints, but in case these do not load on your GPSr or smart device, the cache retrieval tool is stashed at S 35 22.113 E 149 03.762. If you choose to use the cache retrieval tool, please, please, please place it back where you found it on the way back to your car, bike or scooter for the next prospective finder to use.
The container is small, and no room for swaps I'm afraid. Please BYO pen or pencil as these were unable to be included in the container.
I had fun planning this cache with the 5Powells, and we hope that you enjoy finding it also.
