Geocache Description:

Start time is 10:00 AM estimated finish time 2:00 PM. This is a trail mix just for the love of hiking.

For The Love Of Sunrises loved the name of this cache, go figure.

For The Love Of Hiking, is just that.  Some of you, including myself, have found the caches in this area, but others haven’t. No new caches can be placed, so what you see is what we have.

The length of the hike is just under six miles. Most of the trail is no longer maintained by the Forestry Service, but is frequently hiked, and is in good condition.  With the exception of a few fallen trees,  it is very passable. The terrain level is low with only one long slope hike up, and no steep hills.

The hike will start at the fire tower, and proceed north to the “Blue Diamond Trail.” We will follow the rim of the plateau. There is an unmarked trail between the end of the plateau and Terrell Cemetery, which we will take to keep the hike under six miles.  You can also check out the terrain maps on Geocaching.com for more information. I cannot find a map online, but thanks to GCCachers, and all his effort there is a good map of the trail posted on his cache page of the area. “The Lost Blue Diamond Trail” (GC33APG) check out the related web page. It has the best map of the route for the event posted in blue. Keep in mind that the proposed hike is not the full length of the Blue Diamond Trail shown on the map. The second map on the page is the best one to get a idea of what the hike is. The northern portion in blue is most of the hike
