SQUARE PIERRE CHANSON

(1901 – 1974)

Situé au Sud-est de la commune, cette étendue verte d’environ  4500 m² permet de relier par de petits chemins les allées de roses, primevère et jonquilles.

Pierre Chanson était sabotier. Il avait son atelier rue du 11 novembre, presqu'en face de la banque actuelle. Avec son épouse, il tenait également un magasin de chaussures rue du Clos Grillé, en face de l’actuel bureau de tabac.

Il fut Maire du Pellerin de 1959 à 1974.C’est à son initiative que fut créé le premier « journal municipal » de la commune en janvier 1969.

Pierre Chanson was a shoemaker. He had his workshop in the 11Novembre Street, almost in front of the current bank. With his wife, he also ran a shoe store on Clos Grillé Street, in front of the current tobacco shop.

He was Mayor of Le Pellerin from 1959 to 1974. It was on his initiative that was created the first "local newspaper" in the town in January 1969.
