Southerntrekker: This cache has been in need of care and maintenance for some time and as the owner has not responded to recent logs I am archiving it.

The Geocache Maintenance guideline explains a CO's responsibility towards checking and maintaining the cache when problems are reported. Caches that have been archived for lack of maintenance will not be unarchived. This is explained in the Help Center.

Geocache Description:

The old London Pleasure Gardens saw the transformation of the derelict, ex-industrial Pontoon Dock into a pleasure garden featuring round-the-clock music, arts, cafés. Now derelict itself, the path around the site offers amazing views of the famous, well loved icon of post-industrial Britain; Millennium Mills.

Described as a "decaying industrial anachronism standing defiant and alone in the surrounding subtopia", the Mills have become a well-loved icon of post-industrial Britain and has made its way into many aspects of popular culture, being used as a backdrop in films, television shows and music videos - including those by Artic Monkeys (Fluroescent Adolescent), Snow Patrol (Take Back the City) & Coldplay (Every Teardrop is a Waterfall).

The site itself is closed to the public but the view through the gates (also walk to the left of the main entrance for clear views of Grade II listed 'Silo D'), and from the top of Pontoon Dock DLR opposite highlight the fall of Industrial London and its many attempts of regeneration.

container is a magnetised 35mm film roll, where new meets old.
