While growing up in this area, the parkway was one of my most often traveled stretches of roadway. It led to my school, church, and most important to me at the time, ice cream! The toy and hobby shop was a nearby place where I liked to hang around. Jerry, the owner, could throw a quarter behind his back, kick it back up over his shoulder with the heel of his shoe, and have it land in his shirt pocket. I've never seen anything like that since.
