In 2009, Camp Speers-Eljabar YMCA decided to protect a glacial bog (Long Swamp) and its surrounding habitat to ensure long term conservation of this unique swamp, and to enable children and adults the opportunity to learn about this unique area while enjoying the great outdoors.
