Geocache Description:

[EN] The Cache is plastic box with log book, pencil, sharpener and something to change with. Buse (also Matkule) Castle hill is in the list of 50 the most popular national significance natural heritage monuments. It is five-story castle hill - size of plateau 50 x 25 m, height 27 m, total length ~ 200 m. Buse Castle hill is special because it is one of the oldest inhabitats in Latvia - first inhabitants had lived here almost 3 000 years ago (in the Bronze Age) till 14th century. There are evidence of it in many archeological excavations, which were guided by Eduards Šturms (in 1937) and Ēvalds Mugurēvičs (in 1965). Fantastic landscape, which can be seen from Buse Castle hill, is made by river Imula - it surrounds Castle hill from three sides. Imula is one the most beautiful tributaries of river Abava - length 45 km, flow 74,8 m. In the river valley there are many rare and protected plant and animal species according to Latvian and European law. The river is small and rapid, but rich with fish. Buse Castle hill is rewarded with two flags of Europe cultural heritage, which can be seen in home "Buses", where lived Kārlis Busenbergs (1928 - 2010). He had told that tourism start exactly in Buses, because there are Guest book with first log in 16th of July, 1911.
