Geocache Description:

BYOP. This cache is one of several that we have placed near cemeteries in rural Boone County. If the steep driveway is dry access by car is possible but if it is winter or after a rainstorm I would recommend walking up to the cache site. Please feel free to explore the site but also please respect the property.

*Please watch your step! There are a few large holes in the cemetery that can be a trip hazard, especially if you attempt this with snow on the ground.*,

Leininger Cemetery is located in Dodge Township. It's a small cemetery adjacent to private land and contains 40-50 burials. This cemetery, which was founded in 1856 has not officially been labeled as a "pioneer" cemetery, though I talked with a historian from Boone County and they told us they are in the process of having it designated as such. This is fairly unique site. You'll notice that there are concrete steps leading up to the old gate, something you don't see in too many cemeteries.
