If you visit the cemetery you will find three graves on which the date of death are the same. There is a story behind this. During the parenthesis six seamen were out rowing when they found a box on the beach. They picked it up to check out what it contained. It was full of bottles. The seamen thought that they had found alcohol. They knew that they had to tell a higher officer about the find so they row to Mäkiluoto were one of the seamen went to tell a about the find. When he came back to the boat the rest of the seamen had drunk of the alcohol. As it later turned out it was metanol. One of the seamen that drunk the metanol got blind and five died. This is a true story. Konstantin Pintzukin is the one who told this story. He is also the seaman who went to tell the officer about the find that day.
