NRICHment Event Cache

This cache has been archived.

cachephrase: Many thanks to the dozens of "attendees" who made this summer's three ice cream events such a huge success! I enjoyed meeting new cachers from near and far and seeing old friends. We got a lot of talking done considering the amount of ice cream we consumed. See you next summer!

Geocache Description:

NRICHment

Love ice cream?

Nebraska Thursday Ice Cream Heaven is "ment" for you!

Welcome to the third and last of three summer ice cream events!
NTICEment (July 29), NDICTment (Aug. 11) and NRICHment (Aug. 21)

Summer in Nebraska means two things... hot temps and the need for something cool. Join us at an event designed to bring together two favorite summer pastimes: caching and ice cream.

NRICHment
Thursday, August 21 - 7:30-8:30 p.m. or later
Zesto - 11th & South Street, Lincoln

Another couch cushion alert: Zesto, being a small local business, might be cash-only (as opposed to cache-only.) Come with pockets jingling!

Purchase at the store is optional and is not required to attend the event. This is an opportunity to get advice on a tricky cache, tell us your latest summer caching tales, set up future caching plans with other cachers, and talk about the upcoming Kearney Picnic!

Please bring a lawn chair! Picnic table seating is extremely limited at this business, so let's leave those for others. Two possible meeting areas, depending on customer traffic at the location, are either behind the building or on the east end of the property - the grassy strip between Zesto and Taco John's. Look for a friendly cacher face and join us! All cachers (and their families/guests) are welcome to attend.

The business parking lots, on east and west side of the store, are small. You can also find streetside parking in the neighborhood on 11th Street. Keep an eye out for kids out on an ice cream run! No purchase is necessary to attend this event.

So how did Thursday become the "R" in NRICH? Well, back in the day we had to register for college classes on paper from a schedule of classes the size of the Lincoln newspaper, then wait hopefully while a registrar decided our fate and either handed us a complete schedule or told us to play again. UNL consistently used R as the abbreviation for Thursday, and it will be forever embedded in my mind as such.
