Vestergade

Vestergade - English

In the Middle Ages, merchants housed in the large half-timbered houses in the street outside. Today, merchants pulled out, but the beautiful old buildings with storeys and galleries continues to be examples of Renaissance and Baroque architecture.

In are instead brought a diverse culture. In Vestergade meets art, café life, specialty shops, restaurants, recycling, venues and institutions.

Vestergade is alive and kicking and charming in its own way. The route connects the North Allé with the Great Square - and takes its name from the western city gate, which was here in ancient times. Vestergade is somehow divided into two parts separated by Our Lady. The first piece of the magazine and to the church is cobbled and an integral part of the Small Square. Here you will find expensive high-class stores like Mulberry and Wolford, but Jacobs Bar BQ, which in 1979 was the setting for Line 3's debut show, is housed here. Pitabaren located in the beautiful KP's house from 1754, from which a number of the backyard beautiful ornaments also derived.

Although this part of Vestergade have a more design-influenced character, signals a major 'Nuclear Power - No Thank you' painting on a gable that there is room for diversity and wild color. It felt even more at the opposite end of the street outside. To demonstrate the versatility of the street, the shops and restaurants since 2008 held an annual street party, where a red carpet rolled out, and the townspeople are invited inside for free play and fun.
