Geocache Description:

Petite église à Arganchy,

Small church at Arganchy

=================================================================================================

In the 11th Century, the church’s founder, Turstin Halduc, gave this church, dedicated to St. Radegonde in commemoration of the battle of Formigny that ended the 100 Years’ War, to the Abbey in Lessay. The architecture is 13th Century, considerably reworked, as can be seen inside, and the steeple is probably 15th Century.

Inside: three fine 17 thCentury stone altarpieces.  Radegonde (†587), Merovingian queen turned nun, nursed lepers and is associated with

the healing of skin disease. angel
