Elli Tompuri promenade was built to Leppävaara in early 2000. Elli Tompuri was a finnish actress, director, theater manager, poetry reader, dancer and writer.

Elli Tompurin promenadi ilmestyi Leppävaaraan 2000-luvun alkupuolella.

[--] Elli Tompurin promenadi tuli Leppävaaraan 2000-luvun alussa."

Helsingin Sanomat 21.12.2008 Antti Manninen: "Elli Tompuri (1880-1962) was one of the most famous and controversial actresses of early 1900 in Finland. Despite the early successes no theater attached her as a regular actressafter 1910. Tompuri was self employed most of her 50 years career. [--] Elli Tompuri married a social democrat politician and the owner of Leppävaara Manor (Alberga Gård) Lauri af Heurlin in 1910. Soon after the marriage, Tompuri began independent theater activities by assembling a tour. She directed the plays and acted the lead roles. Tompuri played lead role also in The Hamlet by William Shakespeare. Dressing as a man caused discussion and even opposiotion, but the Hamlet performance was mostly deemed succesfull.
