The listed coordinates for this cache take you to the first clue outside the library. The final cache is located inside the library and is only accessible during open hours. See our web site at www.fmb.lib.fl.us for current hours of operation. We are closed on most government holidays. Please allow ample time to complete your find as the library closes promptly at the stated time.
Begin your journey at the posted coordinates where you will see a patriotic statue. Carefully examine it. How many dolphins do you see? Write the word for the number in the first blank below.
Go to the first floor of the library and find a large doll house. In one of the rooms there is a baby in a cradle. A furry animal is sitting next to a basket in this room. Put the common name for this animal in the fifth blank.
Now take the elevator to the third floor. You will find a timeline of the history of Estero Island. Read the history for the year 1900. The sixth word of the capitalized description is your next clue. Place this word in the third blank.
On the same floor, look around for a large object that looks like the word that you just placed in the third blank. Somewhere on this object you will find the words to place in the second and fourth blanks. Make sure you look at the correct object, and examine it closely!
You now have the title of a book! Go find its location on the shelf. To do this, search one of the library’s catalog computers on the second floor to find the heading/call number for the book. Go to the book’s shelf location. If the book is checked out, that’s okay. Just find the spot where the book would be.
The cache is located within an arm’s length of this spot. You may even see a familiar word on it!
