Mill dam park! This one will take you past the Mill race part of the creek. Parking is available at the Mill dam park playground by the RV patriots field house. If the nearby basketball courts are being used do not attempt to find this cache. Come back later on. They will probably see you hunting this one. Just be careful. Past the playground is a trail that will take you to a part of the north branch of the rancocas creek.
Mt holly essentially began after a dam was built on the Rancocas. This allowed water to flow into a mill race that was built connecting two loops of the meandering creek. The race initially powered a grist mill and a saw mill. This narrow current of water loops off from the main dam and runs thru the mill race shops in downtown mt holly before it joins back with the rancocas. A sluice gate is a water channel controlled at its head by a gate. A mill race, leet, flume, penstock or lade is a sluice channelling water towards a mill.
