Geocache Description:

Sjever: A B.C

Istok: D F.G

  • A: temperatura zraka na Event-u
  •  B: broj logiranih posjetitelja ovog EarthCache-a taj dan, plus broj sudionika Event Cache-a (uzimajući u obzir da nitko nije propustio logirati svoje ostvarenje)

ENG: Given coordinates will not bring you to the cache itself but rather to the location where these Croatian subs were designed and developed...

It finally happened! Our submarines left the naval base. But they are far from being retired. Although they ended their honorable naval duty they are now used exclusively for scientific research and underwater study. In this story our main actors are: one submarine dwarf class Velebit P01 with crew of four submariners, which carries four wet submersibles R01 each managed by one diver scientist. There is one additional and independent wet submersible R02 transporting two divers who can leave once anchored submersible and explore the surrounding seabed.

On this sunny summer day the air temperature reached 45 ° C and the temperature of sea water was not very pleasant for swimming - only 15 ° C. Pressure on the sea surface measured 1 atm, and every responsible submariner knows that this is 101325 Pa. The crew of submarine P01 had just finished measuring the salinity and density of the sea water in the mapped area. The results were very accurate. Seawater density for example, was 1032.8745 kg/m3.

Happy after a long research, they decided to take a break before returning to the scientific base. It was not surprising, when the crew, who all of them were Geocachers, for the afternoon relaxation organized Event Cache at the EarthCache Isle. How convenient. There they met another 13 Geocachers who are also first time on this Island!

In the submersible R02 both Geocachers wanted before meeting with P01 to find as many underwater caches as they can, which meant to dive with the sub as deep as it can. In this case they had the restriction. The available force for them to open the hatch dimensions 65 x 60 cm was 94,840.2 N. The acting air pressure inside the submersible was 1.6 atm and at sea level is 1 atm. They wasted no time and were already anchored at the seabed.

While our friends from the R02 searched the underwater, submarine P01 was spotted near the buoy B1 at 10:25 AM, in order to arrive at the event at the buoy B7 five minutes before noon, it was enough to cruise the surface at speed of 0.4 knots. During that time, four Geocachers were ready to hunt for boxes riding on their wet R01s.

The cache is located at coordinates:
North: A B.C
East: D F.G

- A: air temperature at the Event in °C
- B: the number of logged visitors of EarthCache plus the participants on the Event Cache (taking into account that no one failed login its presence)
- C: the depth at which the submersible R02 dived in decimeters
- D: the sea temperature in °C
- F: the number of all logged caches of this colorful geocache society. Knowing that: geocachers from P01 had a dive limit of 20 m. While divers from submersible R02 did not went on the surface to look for the caches. Diver who found the Cache on the surface did not go to look for underwater Caches.
- G: the distance in meters that submersible R02 traveled from place on the seabed to the EventCache in meters. Taking into account that the first maneuver was perpendicular to the surface, and then the submersible sailed forward to the buoy B7. To that one should add 227.4 m, which RO2 made trying to find the suitable place to anchor on the island.
If necessary use the gravitational constant g = 9.81m/s2
