Geocache Description:


After the battle of Sabine Pass (Sept. 1863) Dick Dowling was elevated to hero status in his home town of Houston and was personelly  commended for his action at the battle by "Jefferson Davis".  After returning to his saloon business  in Houston and quickley became one of the city's leading business men. His future was cut short by a yellow fever epidemic and died sept. 23 1867. He was burried at St. Vincent's Catholic cementery in Houston.            You  will be looking for a container about the size of a 35MM.
