Another one in my line of simple hide-interesting location caches. As we explored the nearby Sir Joseph Banks Park, Mandalf and I came across this lookout over the Botany Bay shipping yard. I felt like a little kid seeing a train or a plane, it was really cool seeing the huge mechanisms they use to lift and stack shipping containers. You can learn all about them in the plaque provided.
The easiest way to get to the cache is to drive and park in the Foreshore Road Recreation Area (parking waypoint). For boating and fishing enthusiasts, there is a boat ramp with four lanes and two floating pontoons, an enclosed fish cleaning facility, boat engine washing facilities using recycled water, car and trailer parking spaces, and an amenities block with toilets, shower/foot washing facility, water bubbler, dog bowl and bicycle racks (http://www.sydneyports.com.au/__data/assets/pdf_file/0004/5719/PBE_-_Q_and_A_New_boat_ramp_and_facilties_Final_Oct_08.pdf).
Across the pedestrian bridge in Sir Joseph Banks Park, there are BBQ facilities, playgrounds, and interesting exhibits, architecture, and information plaques about the wildlife and history of the man and the park.
