Geocache Description:

The Halesworth Millennium Green was created in the year 2000 from 32 acres of grazing marsh in the flood plains of the River Blyth and the Town River and is situated just downstream to the east of the centre of Halesworth. It is the largest Millennium Green in England. This Cache has been placed with permission from the Halesworth Millennium Green Trustees.

This Cache is Located close to the Halesworth Lock. Navigation on the Blyth was established in 1761 which flourished for a 100 years before being overtaken by the coming of the railways. Can you believe that Wherries once navigated from Southwold through the Lock to deliver goods to Halesworth. I cannot either but they did. Halesworth Lock which is still a substantial structure has large trees growing through the brickwork causing damage. Haleworth Lock is located on Blyth Meadow which is the largest meadows of the Millennium Green. The cache is large enough for swag and Trackables. A map of the Millennium Green is also hidden inside Please place back as found and hide well.
Congratulations to Aquachippy on the FTF.
