Geocache Description:

A cache and dash - but not necessarily quick due to the volume of traffic and muggles!

Church Description:

The foundation stone of St John's Church was laid in April 1957. It was the first Anglican church to be built in the Gloucester Diocese after World War 2. The church was consecrated on March 15th, 1958 - not that long before Youhumit was born! A vicarage was built adjoining the church, in the same classical style, and a new church hall was added in the 1980's.

Today it forms an integral part of Churchdown's community as it hosts both church and secular events.

Thanks to Ottergirl for the following additional information via her log (19/02/15): "This church is renowned locally for the nativity scene it has in the grounds leading up to Christmas; life size mannequins dressed up as Mary, Joseph, shepherds, kings and a donkey! They move around to act out the nativity story from week to week. It has to be seen!"

Cache Description:

This is a magnetic, bespoke, cache container within view of St John's church. Tweezers may be required to extract the log sheet, and a pen will be required to sign it. Please write prudently and replace the cache carefully. It is not in the church grounds and it is not necessary to enter the grounds.

This should be a quick cache and dash; parking is recommended in nearby St John's Avenue. However, the volume of traffic and muggles - from all directions - could make it tricky at certain times of day.

***CONGRATULATIONS TO Kroppi and ChurchdownHunters for being joint FTF***
