Los Hornos de Cal de Las Cabezas

Este conjunto arquitectónico restaurado y convertido en parque público en la actualidad, data de finales del siglo XIX. Consiste en tres edificaciones abovedadas de uso industrial,  que en su época sirvieron para la obtención de yeso y cal, materiales que eran básicos para la construcción. Los hornos están conformados por piedra y ladrillo macizo. El conjunto se completa con las tanquillas que portaban el agua, el cuarto de la caldera donde se llevaba la cal una vez cocinada, el cuarto del carbón y la casa del yeso. Las piedras de cal se traían en barco hasta el muelle del Puerto de la Cruz desde la isla de Fuerteventura. Por desgracia, esta planta se abandonó a la ruina. Falta dinero para frenar su destrucción.

The lime kilns of  Las Cabezas

This restored buildings, recently converted into a public park, dates back to the end of the 19th century. It consists of three arched buildings for industrial use to produce lime and chalk, the basic building materials at that time. The kilms were made of stone and massive bricks. The ensemble is completed by tanks for transport of water as well as the space for the kiln and the cooked lime and for the coal. The crafted bricks had been taken by ships from Puerto de la Cruz to Fuerteventura. Sadly this site is left to decay due to the lack of necessary money, for preservation.

Die Kalköfen von Las Cabezas

Diese restaurierte architektonische Einheit, aktuell in einem öffentlichen kleinen Park umgewandelt, datiert vom Ende des 19. Jahrhunderts. Sie besteht aus drei überwölbten Gebäuden zur industriellen Nutzung, die in ihrer Epoche dazu dienten Gips und Kalk, Grundmaterialien für die Konstruktion, zu erhalten. Die Öfen sind aus Stein und massiven Backstein gestaltet. Das Ensemble wird komplettiert durch die Behälter (Tank), die das Wasser transportierten, den Raum des Kessels, wo sich der Kalk (einmal gekocht) befand und den Raum der Kohle und des Kalkes. Die fertigen Kalksteine wurden mit dem Boot von der Mole von Puerto de La Cruz bis zur Insel Fuerteventura gebracht. Leider ist diese Anlage dem Verfall preisgegeben. Es fehlt das notwendige Geld, um ihre Zerstörung aufzuhalten.
