Beschreibung:
Die Fähigkeit der Weide, sich neue Lebensräume zu erobern und artenübergreifend fortzupflanzen, ist unübertroffen: Die Botanik zählt ca. 450 Weidenarten. Darunter gibt es bis 30 Meter hohe Bäume, aber auch Zwergsträucher, die maximal 6 Zentimeter hoch werden. Die biegsamen und gleichzeitig stabilen Weidenruten, die nach jedem Rückschnitt immer wieder kräftig austreiben, sind Ausdruck und Sinnbild einer intensiven Lebenskraft.
Morsche und hohle Weidenstämme wachsen jahrelang weiter und selbst abgebrochen oder abgeschlagen von Baum oder Busch bilden Weidenzweige neue Wurzeln. In Märchen, Sagen und Brauchtum vieler Kulturen gilt die Weide deshalb als Kraftbaum mit magischen Energien.

Description:
This Multi-Cache takes you on a short stroll through the local recreation area "Wisentäli" and would like to show you the art of (living) willow sculptures.
Willows have an unmatched ability to conquer new habitats, they are cross-fertile and numerous hybrids occur, both naturally and in cultivation. There are approximately 450 species, amongst which one finds trees of 30 m in height, but also dwarf-shrubs that rarely exceed 6 cm. The bendable withes are remarkable for their toughness, size and tenacity to life - they take root very readily from cuttings or where broken branches lie on the ground.
Due to their robustness, willow trees are quite prevalent in folklore and myths of many civilisations.
