Geocache Description:

This Series is to celebrate The Melbourne Event 2015 which will be held in the City of Casey. It will be Victoria’s Largest and very first MEGA event. The Event at Casey fields will be a little different to other MEGA events in that it will be run over 2 days and will involve many sessions with something for everybody from tutorials on GSAK, project GC and creative hides to In the field training on kayaks and Wherigo creation and MUCH more. We hope you can attend our BIG event.

Imagine it is 1972. The Cold War is in full swing. Russian operatives are everywhere, scouring the earth. The USA’s counter-intelligence agency is in full swing, Richard Nixon is the oval office and the Vietnam War is raging.

The Cold War was named “cold” as there was apparently no direct engagement between the USA and the USSR. That was up until September 1972 when an elite squad of highly trained American agents were sent to do battle directly with the Russians. They were aware of the dangers involved. If they were successful, they would be hailed as heroes. If they failed, their names were to be never mentioned of again.

Ultimately, the American squad failed and retreated. They escaped with only their lives and were not rewarded a single thing for their efforts. It was decided then that their names were to be never mentioned again, however, after discovering some long forgotten paperwork, I can reveal to you at least the first names of these long forgotten agents.

They were Jim, Tom, Doug, Dwight, Kevin, Ed, Mike, Jim, Tom & Bobby.
