Parking: You can park your car, bike or motorbike on all sites of the square by free. There is a parking lot only 10 meters away from the box.
Hidden treasures of Pestújhely:
Visit Pestújhely where I have grown up and walked for 20 years through this square. After I moved away I recognized the spirit of this place.
I loved to live in this part of the town, which has still the style of a small village.
The square hides many interesting points:
The public fountain is still working. It's worth to sit down at the bank in the front of the church. There are a lot of separated squares within the biggest squares of Pestújhely which are telling us their own story.
Pestújhely is since December 31. 1949 not a separate village anymore, it has been joined to Budapest on 1st of January 1950 as part of the new district Nr 15.
The multiple stolen statue
The sculpture of Dr. József Antall, the famous politician coming from Pestújhely, was established by the district’s government in December 2003. He was born in the village on 8th of April 1932 and was at the village’s school. His family was one of the founders of Pestújhely.
The sculpture itself, the work of Károly Kirchmayer, has a quite unlucky story: it was badly damaged by the storm on 20th August 2006 by a fallen tree. It was repaired but shortly after the restoration it was stolen at the night of the 4thMay 2007. It was found shortly after but the thieves haven’t given up: they have stolen it again in November 2007, but has been found luckily again and since then he is majestically watching how the square is improving nearby.
Keresztelő Szent János Roman Catholic Church of Pestújhely
The church was founded on 18th July 1926. The late roman style building and the interior have been designed by architect Lóránd Kismartoni Lechner who has headed the construction works as well.
The consecration was on 25 March 1927. The church is open for the public on Mondays to Saturdays: 7:30 – 9:00, on Sundays: 7:30 – 12:00 and 17:30 – 19:00
Alley of the local history
There were 46 trees planted on 27th November 2012 dedicated to 46 famous persons of Pestújhely who have taken a lot of efforts to develop the village physically and mentally.
There are also two further monuments on the square: dedicated to the dead of World War I. and another one to the revolution in 1848.
It’s a pity on the other end of the square the playground which was once the biggest wooden playground in the district. Nowadays it shows a more neglected picture. Probably someday… Update: playground has been renovated meanwhile. :)
This is a prepared electric box but not on the electric pole. Just grab it from the top, hangig nearby the pole by a wire.
Pls. take care of the mugglers, there is a lot of traffic nearby.
Update:
As you have stormed the box the first day there is a lot of people walking the dog there, so please be careful.
According to the experiences you have to put it back right up and place it with the nipples between the tubes. It fits very good if you are placing the box back in the right position.

Meanwhile surroundings and the box were changed. Original statements written now in grey and italic are not really true anymore.
Thank to local investments there is a properly established and maintened playground and park now.
The box is also changed to a petling hanging on a green wire on the same place.
