Geocache Description:

Micro cache near the Woodhouse Salvation Army.

The church

The Salvation Army, founded by William Booth in 1865, was formed for social work in the community. It has a military-based organisation and is well known for its brass bands. The Woodhouse corps opened in 1885 as an outpost for the Sheffield Citadel. They moved to the current premises in 1926.

The cache

The coordinates are to the church, not the location of the cache. The cache is a micro container close to the church, but not on church grounds. High stealth is required as it's a high muggle area. To find the coordinates, answer the questions below. The information can be found on the church's notice board.

  • A = number of windows in the notice board
  • BCD = last three digits of telephone number
  • E = coffee morning day number (Monday = 1 etc.)

N 53 21.(C-D)(A*B)C W 001 22.(C-E)(A-B)(D+E-A)

This cache is part of a series of Woodhouse church micros including a bonus:

  1. Southern Light Community Church
  2. Woodhouse Salvation Army
  3. Trinity Methodist Church
  4. St James Church
  5. Woodhouse Churches Bonus

The cache will contain a letter and number which is needed for the Woodhouse Churches Bonus cache.

Parking is available on the main road, however it may be easier and safer to park on a side road. A large car park is a short walk away (see waypoint), which is especially useful to do the Woodhouse church micro series.

For full information on how you can expand the Church Micro series by sadexploration please read the Place your own Church Micro page before you contact him at

See also the Church Micro Statistics and Home pages for further information about the series.
