Geocache Description:

Always find these amazing lone standing trees in the arid desert. Well used tracks in the area en route to other caches in the Al Mafjar area.

A beautiful large acacia tree giving plenty shade for herders and animals.

Small container with geocaching doc and log sheet…BYOP

Known commonly as acacia, thorn tree, whistling thorn, or wattle.

The acacia is a symbol associated with Freemasonry. It is used to represent purity and endurance of the soul, as well as funerary symbolism regarding resurrection and immortality.

Many parts of this plant are used to make incense for rituals. The acacia is used for this purpose mainly in India, Nepal, Tibet, and China.

Smoke from acacia bark is thought to keep demons and ghosts away, and to put the gods in a good mood. Roots and resin from acacia are combined with rhododendron, acorus, cytisus, saliva, and some other components of incense.

Terrain rocky with well used tracks, should be able to reach with Sedan or SUV, 4x4 not essential but highly recommended.

Usual precautions for venturing off road in the desert is required to access this cache. Several other caches are located nearby.

Enjoy the surrounding scenery and views.
