The Straws Bridge nature reserve is local beauty spot, becoming increasingly popular with visitors.
The reserve is owned by Erewash Borough Council, who, along with the Friends of Straws Bridge, help to keep the reserve looking lovely, and maintain site, and helping wildlife to flourish. Many thanks to EBC for giving permission for this cache to be placed. There are lots of footpaths around the reserve, there is also the nearby nutbrook trail for cyclists.
This cache originally started off near to the main pond, but has had to be moved a few times in order to find the perfect location, as previous caches either became a victim of flooding, or would go missing. It is now located near to one of the Nutbrook ponds.
The cache is a 2.5* (not quite a 3* I don't think) - this means it is not an easy 1* cache. It means it may require some hunting as per the definition of a 2.5* cache (A mild challenge, but relatively easy for an experienced geocacher). Look at the clues and cache area image.
Please take care with young children and pets as there is water nearby.

22/12/20: Don't rely on previous logs for clues as to the new location. Read the hint, keep your eyes close to the ground....Tree cover means you need to rely on your wits rather than GPS.
3/2/23: temporary cache in place until something more permanent is put in place.
Directions: With the main pond and bridge behind you, you will see a signpost ahead. To the right of the signpost is a dirt path into the trees, alongside the smaller of the two back ponds. Follow this path, until you reach the small platform.
